A Sunday Note
Tiny--but timely . . .
Hello everyone. Looking over my calendar this morning, I realized there are a couple of Misfit-worthy things I wanted to share before they either start or end tomorrow/today.
Starting tomorrow: Ruth Poundwhite’s Aligned AI Summit
I’m really looking forward to this event! Partly to discover ideas and strategies I hadn’t thought of, but mainly to increase my understanding of what authors and entrepreneurs are currently doing with AI—and what they want to do.
As previously teased, I’m hard at work on an AI collaboration guide I think will be significantly different from what’s now available. But in the Misfit spirit, it’s not meant to replace every other system or approach, just to forge a path for those who want to go further and deeper.
So I’ve been auditing every AI event that comes along. Some are focused on technical matters; some are connected to a certain platform or method; some are business-oriented; and some are directed specifically to writers or content creators. In most instances I’ve learned something—either something that has value for my own work, or something I definitely don’t agree with.
By now I’ve seen a lot about how to create good prompts, and I’ve tested a few of the prompt sequences folks are offering as digital products. I’ve also audited presentations and round-tables on using AI to save time, increase efficiency, improve marketing, and so on.
AI events are sometimes superficial or salesy—but I anticipate good things from the Aligned AI Summit because I’ve found value in the work of the Summit creator and several presenters. There will also be a lot of people I don’t know, so a lot of opportunities to find new resources. And I can scan pretty quickly to skip over or dive into the different sessions.
It’s free to explore the Summit, so why not have a look at least?
The Summit will continue for four days, with replays available for a limited period, and (of course) an upgrade option if you want to watch them over and over forever.
But in the meantime . . .
Ending today: Enrollment for Amanda B. Hinton’s Substack Cohort
I make myself read a lot of email from the best-known names in (what I think of as) the “Substack Success Industry.” And I have a lot of informed reasons for never, ever recommending them.
On the other hand: I wholeheartedly admire Amanda B. Hinton. Her work is honest, generous, and smart—which in my book is the trifecta.
If you haven’t been reading Amanda’s Substack, this is a great time to start.
And if you fit into the group she’s starting tomorrow, there might still be time to join.
This is the first time of offering, limited to ten people, and “intentionally priced to be accessible.”
I’m not in the particular place this group is designed for—but if I were, I wouldn’t hesitate!
If you’re not in that place either, for whatever reason, you can still learn about Amanda’s approach, and explore the free resources she offers.
A quick follow-up . . .
Thanks to everyone who checked out the freebie I wrote about on Friday!
The challenge I mentioned participating in was a part of Ruth Poundwhite’s Soulful Sales Society program—and six other participants also created offers. If you’d like to see what they came up with, click here.
And if you’d like a copy of the Misfit Micro-guide to Understanding Substack, here’s a PDF for download.
I’d love your feedback! Questions/suggestions welcome.
Thanks so much for spending a few minutes with The Misfit Writer.
See you tomorrow . . . C
